Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MonsterCam collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the MonsterCam mobile app, website, and support channels.

1. Who we are

MonsterCam is a camera-first monster collecting app operated by Mekasmith, Co., Ltd. The app lets players take photos, catch monsters hiding in them, and save those captures to a personal Dex.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use MonsterCam, we may collect:

  • Account information: email address, authentication provider identifiers, display name, trainer name, and account status.
  • Photos submitted for captures: photos you choose to take or submit so MonsterCam can find a monster hiding in them.
  • Capture data: finished monster capture images, monster ID, rarity, card metadata, capture time, and Dex progress.
  • Credits and purchase data: credit balances, free capture cooldowns, transaction identifiers, and app-store purchase status.
  • Device and app data: app version, device type, operating system, crash logs, diagnostics, and basic security events.
  • Support communications: messages you send to support, including account deletion and privacy requests.

3. Photos and monster captures

MonsterCam’s core feature requires processing the photo you submit. We use that photo to choose a monster and return a monster capture for your Dex.

  • We do not intentionally store the original photo after the capture request is processed.
  • The finished monster capture is stored because it becomes part of your Dex.
  • We do not store EXIF GPS coordinates from photos.
  • We may use limited anti-abuse checks, such as duplicate image detection, to protect the capture system.
  • We try to avoid logging request bodies that contain image data.

Capture results can be imperfect. Do not submit private, sensitive, unsafe, or non-consensual photos.

4. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide the MonsterCam app, including account access, camera captures, monster reveals, credits, and Dex storage.
  • Operate safety, privacy, anti-cheat, fraud prevention, and abuse prevention systems.
  • Provide support, respond to deletion requests, and communicate about your account.
  • Debug crashes, monitor service health, improve reliability, and understand app performance.
  • Comply with law, app-store obligations, payment rules, and enforce our Terms and Conditions.

5. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate MonsterCam, including cloud hosting, authentication, storage, diagnostics, support, and app-store payment platforms.

These providers may include AWS, Firebase or Google services, Apple, Google Play, and other vendors needed to provide the app. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer.

6. Retention and account deletion

We keep account data and monster captures while your account is active or as needed to provide the app. We may keep limited records longer when required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, payment, tax, or dispute-resolution reasons.

To request account deletion, email support@getmonstercam.com from the email associated with your MonsterCam account. You can also use the instructions at /delete-account/.

After deletion, we aim to remove or de-identify account profile data and monster captures we control, subject to verification and legally permitted retention. Copies may remain in backups for a limited period before they are overwritten.

7. Young players

MonsterCam is intended for users 13 and older. If you are under 13, use MonsterCam only with a parent or guardian involved. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact support@getmonstercam.com and we will review the request.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so please use a strong account password and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.

9. Your choices

  • Camera permission: you can disable camera access in your device settings.
  • Notifications: you can disable push notifications in your device settings.
  • Account deletion: you can request deletion by emailing support@getmonstercam.com.
  • Support requests: you can ask questions about privacy or your account at any time.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as MonsterCam changes. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may provide additional notice in the app or on this website.
